You're probably thinking from the blog title that I'm going to tell you how I am a third generation sailor...well, I confess, this isn't true. The title is merely referring to my favorite Jimmy Buffett song. I'm sure many reading this blog have heard of the Margaritaville singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett. I grew up listening to his music and I generally believe we tend to like the music we grew up listening too. I have many great memories of vacations at the beach where Buffett's music was practically the soundtrack to the trip.
It's not uncommon to find me on my sailboat with a Jimmy Buffett song playing alongside Jack Johnson, James Taylor, Coldplay and Neil Diamond. Yes, Neil Diamond, that wasn't a typo. I wanted to share with you my favorite song by Buffett, Son of a Son of a Sailor.
Sometimes I listen to music and only hear instruments and don't focus on the lyrics. This is one song I easily know all of the lyrics too, my favorite line being "I've read dozens of books by heroes and crooks and learned much from both of their styles." Everyone has a story to tell and a lesson to teach, be you a hero or a crook.
The store has been busy with activity and our print shop is churning out orders as fast as we can. This tends to be a stressful time of year at T&L so I wanted to do a blog post this week that reminded me to take a few deep breathes, relax, and enjoy the ride. Dream Big this week my friends,
